Day 04 Munnar-Kumarakom
After an early breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Kumarakom(200 km-05 hours drive), On arrival check in to the hotel. Spend the day with local sightseeing in and around Kumarakom,a tiny backwater hamlet perched on the western banks of the Vembanadu lake(Kerala’s biggest lake). The stretch of backwater is spread over 900 sq.km. Kumarakom bird sanctuary, a home to thousand and more of rare species of birds, is also included in the itinerary. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 05 Kumarakom-Alleppey Houseboat Cruise
After the breakfast, set out on an enchanting two days backwater cruise in traditionally decorated Houseboat. While cruising in this floating luxury-villa let your eyes settle for the rare and the unusual-skim past Chinese fishing nets, bowed down paddy fields, local inhabitants engaged in making coir products, rustic homes, ancient temples and swaying coconut groves. Delicious food will be served on board. Cooking classes on request. You also can prepare food for yourself. Overnight stay in the Houseboat.
Day 06 Alleppey Houseboat Cruise
After a refreshing breakfast, the second day of the cruise will begin and take you to some typical Kuttanadan villages. Kainakary,Chennamkary,Champakulam,Nedumudy, Thakazhy,Pallathuruthy are among them. Kuttanadu is called the‘Rice bowl of Kerala’. Sightseeing attractions in Kuttanadu include Chavara shrine,Champakkulam st:mary’s forane church,Champakkulam snakeboat, Karumady Buddha statue, Ambalappuzha Krishna temple etc…Delicious food will be the major attraction on board. Overnight stay in the Houseboat.
Day 07 Alleppey-Cochin
After breakfast check out from the Houseboat at Alleppey (check out time 9: 15 am) and drive to Cochin Airport/Railway Station (70 km- 2 hours drive) for onward journey. |
